Also, continues Mr. Vilallonga, “indeed, at the end of the said Forum and at the request of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Rural Development, the Delegation of the European Union to the Togolese Republic funded in 2019 the development of the National Residue Monitoring Plan (PNSR) in honey from Togo, the objective of which was to certify the quality of Togolese honey for its export to the European Union. Today it is done and Togolese operators as well as European consumers can only rejoice ".

In the rest of his address, he indicates that “the European Union hopes that this authorization, which opens up a market of more than 450 million consumers to Togolese beekeepers and honey collectors, will strengthen the development of the honey sector and Togo’s exports. towards the European Union ”.

It should be noted that in record time (between January and February 2020), Togo has put in place an adequate regulatory framework which reassures the quality control of its honey and which has made it possible to speed up the processing and validation of its National Residue Monitoring Plan by the European Commission ”, he adds before concluding, by encouraging“ actors in the honey sector in Togo to scrupulously respect the provisions put in place by the national authorities so that this authorization to export honey to the European Union is renewed each year ”.
