He is one of those Togolese who make their country talk well around the world but also internally.

This thanks to his devotion to the health cause of his compatriots and also Africans residing in the countries of the continent where his NGO, AIMES-AFRIQUE is established. It seems, moreover, that it is this devotion that has earned him consecrations to major events or occasions. The last of these meetings was the 16th meeting of African leaders from the 5 economic regions of the continent for the 16th African Development Prize (PADEV), from September 24 to 27, 2021, in Kigali, Rwanda. Here again, Dr Serge Michel Kodom, as it was him, was among the guests and laureates to be honored with distinctions at the traditional evening of September 27 at the Grand Hotel Marriott, in the Rwandan capital. Indeed, at this evening, it was a question for the political and administrative authorities of Rwanda to reward leaders and builders of Africa whose works in their respective sectors of activity constitute models of contribution to development and which positively impact their countries and hence the African continent.

Receiving his distinction, Dr Kodom, rightly nicknamed "the doctor of the poor" and whose initiatives today extend beyond the borders of Togo, this slender country of West Africa, did not hesitate to dedicate this award to all his medical colleagues and especially those who have passed the weapon to the left in their efforts to fight Covid-19 by taking care of patients suffering from this disease which has been abusing the whole world since early 2020.

“It’s a surprise but also joy and pride to receive this Award. I am very delighted with the choice made to me to receive this new distinction of "Best African Promoter of Social Works" in the category "African Prize for Merit and Excellence", so he expressed his emotion, once his prize received. It can be said without being mistaken that the Doctor of the Poor, with this new prize, made even more entry into the circle of the great, since, just like him, on the same podium of Marriott Hotel, distinctions were awarded to the former President of Niger, Issoufou Mahamadou, to the Vice-President of the National Assembly of Senegal, Dr Cheik Tidiane Ngadio, Minister Tidiane Thiam ...
